Burien Actors Theatre is seeking a male actor to play the characters of the Reverend Cole and George Jenkins, who are in their 40s to 50s, in the 5-actor award-winning drama The Law of the Sea, written by D. Richard Tucker, to be performed from April 28 through May 7, 2017. Actors of all races and ethnicities sought for the roles.

SYNOPSIS: Fergus is back home in New York in 1855 after surviving a shipwreck that took the life of his good friend Andrew. Now Andrew’s wife, Elizabeth, has arrived, seeking the truth about her husband’s death, but Fergus and the other survivors of the shipwreck are reluctant to share the facts. Elizabeth learns about the informal law in which if a group of seamen are stranded together, an option for survival inconceivable in the “civilized” world may be considered.

The Law of the Sea is one of the award-winning plays in the 2017 Bill & Peggy Hunt Playwrights Festival at Burien Actors Theatre. The festival features four brand-new plays by Washington State playwrights.

The Law of the Sea will have six performances from April 28 through May 7 in a double bill with Winter People.

Performances are at Burien Actors Theatre in Burien on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Rehearsals begin in March in Burien.

Free on-site parking for rehearsals and performances.

Stage director is Rochelle Flynn.
