Burien Actors Theatre is seeking a male actor to play the character of 38-year-old Will in the award-winning two-person drama Winter People, written by Devin Rodger, to be performed from April 28 through May 7, 2017. Actors of all races and ethnicities are sought for the role.
SYNOPSIS: Two recovering addicts in Long Island, New York try to find and understand who they were. If they can find the truth in the connection they once shared, even amongst all the wreckage, it just might heal them. This show is a tour de force for two actors.
Winter People is one of the award-winning plays in the 2017 Bill & Peggy Hunt Playwrights Festival at Burien Actors Theatre. The festival features four brand-new plays by Washington State playwrights.
Winter People will have six performances from April 28 through May 7 in a double bill with The Law of the Sea. Performances are at Burien Actors Theatre in Burien on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Rehearsals begin in March in Burien.
Free on-site parking for rehearsals and performances. Located 20 minutes from downtown Seattle.
Stage director is Tabitha Angier.
Character Breakdown / Project Needs
Will is age 38, an artist and former addict with mild brain damage. Will believes the traumatic event that caused the brain damage has thrown him and his former girlfriend into an alternate universe. Actor does not have to be 38, but must be able to convincingly play that age.
