Character Breakdown / Project Needs
ELIZA DOOLITTLE - A cockney flower girl who hopes to lift herself out of the gutter to elevate her standing and become a lady. Cockney and British accent. (Strong Soprano (A3-G5), Age Range 18-35)
PROFESSOR HIGGINS - Middle-aged confirmed bachelor, professor of phonetics & an expert elocutionist. Strong British dialect. (Baritone (B2-E4), Age Range 40-65)
COLONEL PICKERING - Retired British officer & fellow linguist specializing in Indian dialects. Always considerate and a gentleman. Strong British dialect. (Baritone (C3-D4), Age Range 45-65)
ALFRED DOOLITTLE - Classic character man. Eliza’s father who is fun loving, wise cracking and proud. He is quite a drinker and loves the ladies. Strong actor who sings well. Cockney accent. (Baritone (G3-E4), Age Range 45-65)
MRS. PEARCE – Henry Higgins patient housekeeper. British accent. (Mezzo-Soprano (E4-G4), Age Range 40+)
FREDDY EYNSFORD-HILL – Upper class young man who becomes smitten with Eliza. British accent. (Tenor (C3-F4), Age Range 18-35)
MRS. HIGGINS - Professor Higgins mother. She is self-assured, wealthy, classy and elegant. British accent. (Age Range 60+)
PROFESSOR ZOLTAN KARPATHY – Hungarian linguistics expert. (Age Range 35+)
MRS. EYNSFORD-HILL – Freddy’s mother (Age Range 40+)
HARRY – Companion of Alfred Doolittle. Cockney accent. (Baritone/Bass, Age Range 18+)
JAMIE – Companion of Alfred Doolittle. Cockney accent. (Tenor, Age Range 18+)
DANCING ENSEMBLE – Dancers that sing with strong jazz and ballet skills. Male and Female (Age Range 15+) (Embassy Ball guests, Servants, Flower girls, Bar Patrons, Ascot Race Patrons etc.)
ADULT ENSEMBLE – Singers that move well. Male and Female (Age Range 18+) (Queen of Transylvania, Lord Boxington, Mrs. Hopkins, Cockney Male Quartet, Market Vendors, Bar Patrons, Ascot Race Patrons etc.)
CHILDREN’S ENSEMBLE – Singers that move well. Male and Female (Age Range 10-14) (Will be casting 2-3 children for some of the ensemble scenes)

Audition Requirements:
Bring a headshot and resume to leave with the panel. Prepare one song selection, no longer than one verse and one chorus (approx. 16-32 bars) from the musical theatre canon. Accompanist will be provided. Accompanist will not transpose music. No taped accompaniment or singing acapella permitted.
Monetary compensation:
All cast and crew are volunteers.
