Recording the English Languate Demo recording of a new Christmas musical "12 Days Of Christmas" that premiered in Germany in December of 2015. Ensemble cast with each member singing principal parts of solo or duet and company numbers.
Character Breakdown / Project Needs
The songs of the show create the legend behind each of the gifts for the "12 Days Of Christmas" as told by the Choir Master at rehearsals for a group of Christmas Carolers as they learn the song.
Christmas Is Coming (Opening Company Number)
Choir Master 35 - 55 commanding personality
(Cast - Paul Linnes and arriving carolers sing the production number in ever growing counter point)
Partridge in a pair Tree (Solo)
A man 30 - 40 recalls how his mother died on Christmas when he was a child and believes she returned next year in the spirit of a Partridge nesting outside their kitchen window.
Two Turtle Doves. (Duet)
A soldier returns home from War. He had left his betrothed one of two turtle doves he carved as a set and sends it back to her to let her know he will be home for Christmas to marry her.
Three French Hens (Comic Duet)
A pluck little man marries a tall sturdy farmer Girl (Sung in drag) and gives her three French Hens, so she can start an egg laying and pillow making business to support him in a life of comfort.
Four Calling Birds (Solo uptempo)
A young man bemoans how his murderous father baked 4 and 20 black birds into a pie for a fat, deaf king. He hatched four of the eggs and raised them to sing, which he now gives to his blind sweetheart to make her smile.
Five Golden Rings (Duet)
A lovely farmer's daughter loses her hand in a thresher, and all her suitors, until a scholar falls in love with her and gives her 5 golden rings for each of her good fingers to show his lover for her.
SIX Geese A Laying (Comic Boogie Woogie Group)
A Butcher (Cast - Prince Mario-Max zu Schaumburg-Lippe) is frustrated because his vegetarian bride will not let him cook a goose for their Christmas dinner. So he threatens six of his geese to lay enough eggs for an enormous omelette or one of their gooses will get cooked. Six women sing the roles of the Geese.
Seven Swans A Swimming (Duet) Cast - Britt Boyd & Paul Linnes)
A retired glassblower gifts his ailing wife with seven glass swans on a mirrored lake to represent their seven children that have grown and flown away. The winter is so severe he fears they will not make it home for Christmas to see her, but in the end they arrive.
Eight Maids A Milking (Comic uptempo Company)
A young man (Cast - Prince Mario-Max zu Schaumburg-Lippe) is refused the hand of his sweet heart because he has no money and just one old cow. But fortune smiles when he wins a fortune in a cheese making contest. Now he can afford eight maids to milk his new cows and earn the hand of his bride.
Nine Ladies Dancing (women group)
Cinderella, one year later and 9 months pregnant at the Christmas Ball does a series of comic monologue as she grumbles at nine skinny ass ladies in waiting while they gossip about their commoner pregnant princess.
Ten Lords A Leaping
Prince Charming (Cast - Prince Mario-Max zu Schaumburg-Lippe)
Prince Charming and nine of his noble chums drunkenly toast and dance around a nauseous Cinderella, toasting to her health
Eleven Pipers Pipping (Company)
Cinderella groans as 11 foreign exchange students from Scotland Pipe their Bag pipes to entertain her.
Twelve Drummers Drumming
12 percussionist pound out a rhythmic tribute to Cinderella causing her to go into labor. As they march around her and Prince Charming reciting all the 12 Gifts of Christmas" ending in the deliver of a new baby prince turning Charming into a proud "Prince and a Papa"

Gospel Soloist with company sings the signature finale Christmas Song
The Show is Over (Encore Company) Sung to the same melody as the opening number "Christmas Is Coming" but the lyrics tell the audience the show is over and time for them to go home so the cast can go out to eat, drink, and get merry.
