Based on the book by Frances Hodgson Burnett, "The Secret Garden" is a story of renewal and hope. It takes place in 1906 in Colonial India and Misselthwaite Manor, located in North Yorkshire, England. Its Broadway premiere garnered 3 Tony Awards, including "Best Book". The play calls for a an intimate cast of approximately 35 (adults and children) with excellent vocal skills. The music will be challenging, but will provide ample opportunities for soloists to shine. Included are iconic songs such as, "Lily's Eyes", "Come to my Garden", and "The Girl I Mean to Be".

Please prepare a one minute monologue, and 16 bars of music, classical or Broadway preferred. Download the audition form from website and bring it with you completed to the appointment. In addition, please bring a photo of yourself to attach (professional level headshots not required.) The show will be performed at the historic Lincoln Theater, located in downtown Mount Vernon. Performance dates will be: April 12, 13, 14, 18,19,20,21, 25,26,27 and 28, with two additional week-days designated during this time period to present school performances.
