The Phoenix Theatre will be holding auditions for two actors to complete the cast of "Dashing Through the Snow" by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope & Jamie Wooten. It’s four days before Christmas in Tinsel, Texas and a colorful parade of guests including down and out actors from a lower-than-low-budget touring production of "A Christmas Carol", two feuding 80 year-olds, and a couple dressed like Mrs. Claus and an elf arrive at the Snowflake Inn. In addition, Trina, the innkeeper, is dealing with a demanding guest who refuses to leave and a tipsy housekeeper and it's clear it will take more than a kiss under the mistletoe to keep her spirits merry and bright. When you add to this the Futrelle sisters and their best friend, Raynerd, you have a laugh until your sides ache climax. From the authors of last year’s hit, Christmas Belles.
The show opens on Friday, December 7, 2012 and will close on Sunday, December 23. Performances are on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees.

 

Other details:
Rehearsals will begin on Monday, October 29, 2012 and are scheduled for Monday - Thursday evenings until tech week. However, not all actors will not be called for every rehearsal. Individual schedules will be discussed at your audition.

Character Breakdown / Project Needs
--Trina Walcott (F, 40s - 50s) the harried yet upbeat innkeeper of The Snowflake Inn, a charming, Christmas-themed B&B in Tinsel, TX. She has more than she can handle coping with the nuttier-than-a-fruitcake lodgers.

--Binky and Raynerd (M, 50s) the two roles will be played by one actor. Binky, spry, energetic and dressed as one of Santa's elves, arrives for a rendezvous with Mrs. Claus. The role of Raynerd is an uncomplicated, almost child-like man who just loves Christmas.
