Project Description:
About the Show:
St-st-step into the shoes of Hal Hefner, a high school junior burdened with a surplus of family chaos and crazy teachers – not to mention the debilitating stutter that only recently came to join the party. Set to an upbeat rock score by Stephen Weiner (Iron Curtain, Once Upon a Time in New Jersey), Hal navigates the frenzied halls of high-school – from his first attempt at romance, to the simple yet overwhelming task of ordering a slice of p-p-pizza, to the even more daunting prospect of competing in the state debate contest- and manages to keep both his dignity and his humor intact. Watch Hal discover the importance of friendship, trust, and self-confidence in this wryly comical new musical. The production will be directed by Steve Tomkins, Village Theatre's Artistic Director.

About TeenSelect:
The TeenSelect production is a production of an original or developing work (typically from Village or Company Originals program.) It is a school year production program for more advanced students grades 9-12. Directed, designed, and produced by adult theatre professionals, the intensive rehearsal process includes script analysis, character development, learning choreography and staging, and strengthening the vocal instrument. The result of this program is a fully-produced show.
