Project Description:
Seattle Musical Theatre is looking for children to finish casting for our 2012-2013 season. There are roles available in both Scrooge: The Musical and Gypsy.
SCROOGE
Based on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, Scrooge: The Musical follows grumpy Ebenezer Scrooge through his revealing night of ghostly visits from his late business partner and Christmas Past, Present and Future. Winner of multiple Academy and Grammy Awards for classics such as Willy Wonka, Hook and Dr. Doolittle, Leslie Bricusse brings new life to this classic. Revisit this heartwarming tale with your whole family at this special time of year.
GYPSY
Based on the memoirs of Seattle’s own Gypsy Rose Lee, this great American musical follows Mama Rose’s dauntless efforts to make her children vaudeville stars, and the damaging fallout that those efforts leave behind on all her relationships. Gypsy boasts multiple Tony awards and revivals throughout its history. Let us entertain you with this classic, whether it is your first time or your 20th. |

Audition Information

Audition/Interview Dates:
Wednesday, Sept 19th @ 4-8pm |
Callbacks or second audition/interview?
Scrooge- Sept 19th (later the same evening); Gypsy- Oct 13th & 14th |
Audition Requirements:
Please prepare a one-minute monologue and 16 bars of a musical theatre song. Material should not exceed 2 minutes. Bring TWO COPIES of your headshot and resume to the auditions.
If you do not have material to perform, please email auditions@seattlemusicaltheatre.org for suggestions.
All auditioners are required to have parental permission to audition and participate in the shows. |
Describe any monetary compensation:
All actors will receive a stipend, the amount of which will depend on the size of the role.

Character Breakdown / Project Needs
We are looking for children between the ages of 5-17 years old, both male and female.
Roles of all sizes are available for both shows.
