Project Description:
"The Harvest" is a naturalistic Sci-Fi short film with Spaghetti Western influences. Visually rooted in the landscape of the Olympic Rainforest, the film follows a father and daughter on an alien planet as they track ground-nesting insects. They want the insects to harvest their "honey" an extremely powerful and valuable fuel source. After they are ambushed and looted by a bandit, the Daughter retaliates with a surprising eruption of swift and effective vengeance. The film will be detailed, gritty, and a beautiful yet alien rendering of our Pacific Northwest.

Character Breakdown / Project Needs
ROLE:

We are seeking a FEMALE LEAD age 16-20. Character age 14-16.

She is quiet and focused. She observes the alien landscape with curiosity. Under her father's strict tutelage, she has become proficient in survival and tracking skills, making her a capable partner in their prospecting expedition. Her father's approval is very important to her and there are moments when the rigidity and discipline breaks down and we see a genuinely warm and loving relationship. But there is a darkness beneath her surface…a darkness that rises when her father is attacked and she exacts his brutal revenge.

We are looking for someone who is passionate, flexible, and willing to spend a lot time outdoors. This is a physical role - substantial activity will be required while wearing a space helmet.

Principal shooting likely won't happen for several months, however, we are hoping to cast someone who is available for a day or two of test shoots within the next month or so.

Both union and non-union talent are encouraged to apply.

We will be sending scripts with callbacks.
