Auditions will be held at Research Media Works (Studio X) in Redmond, Wa. We will review Headshot/Resume submissions and respond with location and time.
This video project is being produced with the RIN (Rich Interactive Narratives) project supported by Research Media Works. We will explore the lives of four very different people and get a glimpse into their world and how they are connected through the story we tell.
Depending on Actor availability, we will be shooting most scenes separately with a 3-5 day commitment from each actor thru the weeks of July 23rd and July 30th. These days are not necessarily consecutive and we are willing to work around busy schedules. Depending on shooting schedule, each actor can expect to work between 5-8 hours for a day. This is a privately funded project for the development Rich Interactive Narrative Technology and how it can be used to tell stories and enrich our lives.
Auditions will be held at Research Media Works (Studio X) in Redmond, Wa.
Please submit headshots and resumes to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will respond with sides, location, and audition time for you on July 21st between 10am and 3pm.
Character Breakdown / Project Needs
2 male & 2 female, any ethnicity, reasonably athletic, 20s age range
Minsy is a mid-twenties computer scientist working for a large software company. Her dry sense of humor is usually misinterpreted, and her esoteric trains of thought often seem to come from left field. On the web she is omnipresent and a badass. In the real world she is a typical quiet computer geek going unnoticed, except by computer geek boys who fawn all over her, much to her annoyance. With the old-timers at the company, however, she can talk and talk.
Emily is in her mid-twenties and covered in dirt. She drives the truck to the farmers market on the weekends. But most of her time is spent outside of civilization. She’s extreme to a fault: pushing herself into danger whenever possible. She’s also her own clown and audience. She can’t help but attempt absurd feats, falling on her ass and rolling around on the ground laughing… so long as no one is watching.
Jay is an electronic musician and DJ in his mid-twenties. Though his intentions are to hit it big, and spends a lot of time gigging around the city, he can’t seem to stop himself from sabotaging his own success. He drinks, he smokes, he says and does inappropriate things. He’s always distracted by the ladies but he usually ends up acting like a jackass in his pursuits. When the dance floor is thumping to his grooves he makes abrupt changes or suddenly stops. In fact, he is quite talented, but his tastes change so quickly and he is so enamored with new things, that everything ends up sounding like a mess.
Chester is a writer. He’s an old-school, would be sea captain spinning endless yarns about aquatic science fiction worlds. He’s in his twenties, but he imagines himself an old man. He’s constantly dictating into his tape recorder and slamming away at his aging laptop. When he’s not in a flurry of creation he’s staring at things. He has an intense stare and when people are his subject, sometimes animals too, they usually become uncomfortable and wish Chester weren’t there. But when approached he’ll chat for hours, smiling ear to ear.
