Audition Information

Audition/Interview Dates:
Auditions are on the evening of Thursday the 19th and the day of Sunday the 22nd. Actors who come on Thursday may be called back on Sunday.

Audition Requirements:
After first contact, we will provide you with a side to prepare.

Describe any monetary compensation:
All our shows pay a basic stipend, with an additional pay bump once the show crosses a certain boundary.

Character Breakdown / Project Needs
We need two or three male actors of non-Caucasian heritage (particularly African- and Asian-American) and a female performer from any background. Each male actor should be able to pass for 20-30. The female performer should be able to pass for under 30 at most. All performers will be portraying members of the military.

This is an ensemble show, so each male performer will do 3 or 4 monologues as different characters. We are not casting for specific roles. We are casting flexible actors to round out our ensemble.

The female role is that of a present day mother who is also a soldier actively at war.

Please note that this is a play primarily of monologues/soliloquies, you will be talking directly to the audience in one way or another. Rehearsals may start as early as August, but they will be one-on-one and completely flexible to match your schedule.

Final rehearsals, dress, etc, will be the last weekend in October through an opening night of November 8.

Other details you need to know about these auditions:
Each of the male performers will be playing several characters in the space of an hour or two. These will largely be conveyed through use of voice and physicality, so actors with a strong background in character creation, or those looking for a collaborative challenge, are particularly encouraged to audition. Actors who focus primarily on film are also very welcome.
