The Sonoro Women’s Choir is holding auditions for new members on June 30th! We still have a few audition slots open. |

Prepare a song from theatre or opera; bring sheet music for accompanist. |
Describe any monetary compensation:
No pay yet, but hoping someday as we grow! We require $30 a month for dues, which pays for accompanist, venue rental, and sheet music.

Character Breakdown / Project Needs
We need soprano and alto voices.
Our coming season will feature a great variety of choral music from classical to contemporary, musical theatre etc…
Upcoming performances include:
“A Christmas Fantasia”
Our very popular and well attended holiday concert in December will feature themes of Christmas and Holiday favorites from around the world! From rousing Spanish carols to American accapella jazz, English classics and more. We have it on good authority that the jolly man in the red suite will again grace us with an appearance for photos with the audience!
Then in February
“An Evening of Dining, Drama & Delight”
We are very excited to be presenting the first in what will become an annual event, a dinner theatre night of opera & musical theatre scenes.
While our guests enjoy a catered dinner, we will be performing famous scenes from favorite operas and musicals as soloists, duets, small ensembles and a couple of full chorus numbers. All with dramatic staging and costuming to help bring the evening to life!
In addition to putting on formal concerts and events, the choir performs frequently around the Puget Sound area. The last few seasons have seen is performing for Joint Base Lewis McCord, The Puyallup Fair, and Representing the Tacoma Fire Department at Tacoma’s 10th anniversary ceremony remembering 9/11 on the Tacoma Waterfront as well as many other exciting events.
The choir performs all styles of choral music from classical to contemporary, opera, musical theatre, jazz, opera and even the occasional pop or rock piece!
